What is something home owners have to deal with that you want to fix? Many owners buy a home that is in a homeowners association and do not understand what an HOA is.  I would like for this to change and for them to understand that they are the HOA and by buying a home in an HOA, there are certain rules and regulations they need to follow, dues assessments to be paid and that their input matters.

What do you do at Coventry? I currently manage 11 HOA’s in Winchester and Stephens City.  As a Community Manager, I am the main contact for the homeowners of the communities I manage. Part of my job is to conduct monthly community inspections, send violation letters to homeowners not in compliance, and to answer questions and concerns of all the members in the HOA. I work closely with the HOA boards and keep them informed of what is going on in their community via reports, emails and phone calls.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? I became active in Community Management when I moved to Winchester in 2001. I was the Secretary of my HOA for 2 years and was elected President and served for 8+years. After 23 years as a daycare provider, I got a job at a local management company where I took my skills to a new level. I have my CMCA certification and will continue on towards my AMS.

What do you like about working at Coventry? What’s there not to like? My co-workers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. There is always chocolate in the candy jar and something sweet in the kitchen. Mark and Beth are great at managing their employees and they are very good at making us all feel appreciated.

What’s your background? I have been married for 28 years and I have 3 beautiful daughters. I have lived in Winchester for 17 years in a small HOA on the outskirts of the county and love it here.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I enjoy working in the yard and spending time with my family.

What are the values that drive you? Family, loyalty, understanding and commitment

What do you like about working at Coventry? How family oriented it is, and how close everyone is! It’s nice to work somewhere where you aren’t afraid to ask for help or for advice when you really need it. The best part of working at Coventry is when everyone’s had a rough week, and yet somehow, we’ll find a minute to gather up and have a laugh or two and talk about non-related work topics. Mark & Beth really do take care for us, and what we feel really does matter to them and that’s not something you get at just any workplace.
